New Summer Camps for 2022!
Don’t just learn history, feel it at the Two Mississippi Museums. Our in-person, two-week summer camps are designed for children in grades 4–8.
History Exploration Camp - NOW FULL
Monday–Friday, June 13–24, 8 a.m.–5 p.m.
Rising fourth and fifth graders
Campers will explore different historic themes such as archaeology, architecture, transportation, civil rights, and music through exhibits at the Two Mississippi Museums, behind-the-scenes tours of the collections, special guest speakers, and visits to other historic sites in Jackson, including the Eudora Welty House & Garden and the Mississippi Governor’s Mansion.

Freedom School Camp
Monday–Friday, July 5–15, 8 a.m.–5 p.m.
Rising sixth, seventh, and eighth graders
Inspired by the original Freedom School of 1964, campers will deepen their understanding of the Civil Rights Movement in Mississippi and its impact on the world as they learn the stories of local heroes in their communities. Students will have the opportunity to visit historic sites throughout Jackson such as the Medgar and Myrlie Evers Home National Monument, the COFO Civil Rights Education Center, and Tougaloo College.
